Over the past 4-5 years, my hair has lost a significant amount of volume. When I was younger (highschool/beginning of college), I never teased my hair and almost never used hairspray. I had tons of hair that would hold curl and stay voluminous without any maintenance. Sadly as I get older, I am noticing that my hair is changing 🙁
Unfortunately, now I need hairspray and have started teasing my hair occasionally. I HATE teasing my hair. If I had a little more practice I may not mind it as much, but it never seems to stay and my hair feels super ratty. Can you relate? Because teasing is so difficult for me, it’s hard to create volume. That is why I was super excited when Statusphere sent me Rootie the Rootlifter by Voloom complimentary to try and review for you guys.
Let me start by saying I would have never thought to try this product. I had not heard of it before this collaboration, and the concept is very new to me. This product creates volume by adding texture to the “under layers” of your hair. Texture meaning something very similar to a subtle crimp. The whole idea is that you texture your hair underneath so the top layers appear voluminous yet smooth.
This product definitely creates volume. It took much less time to use than teasing my hair and held shape well. It also did not make my hair feel tough or ratty as does teasing. I probably won’t use this product when I wear my hair down however, I definitely will be using it when doing an updo or pony tail. In my opinion, this product is priced a little too high ($100) because you can get the same effect with teasing.
Overall, I am really glad to have tried Rootie the Rootlifter by Voloom because I know I will be using it in the future.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Monday! Verse of the Day: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” – Proverbs 16:3.
