As most of you know, I recently started the BBG program. I had been meaning to get back into exercising for awhile, but working full time + blogging + life makes exercising very difficult. Excuses I know, but all of those things set my activity level on the back burner. As a registered dietitian, I definitely know how to eat well to maintain a healthy weight which is why exercise was not a priority. All things aside, exercise does SO much for your body that food cannot. For example, it can increase your metabolism which can in turn help you maintain a healthy weight, but even beyond that, exercising your heart muscle consistently is vital for long term health and wellness.
Before I get all dietitian nerdy on you, lets talk about Old Navy’s activewear. I have always been a Nike and Lululemon kind of girl. In my opinion, these brands have the best leggings ever. Unfortunately, both of these brands are on the pricier side so I began to look for activewear that was more affordable. I actually asked my best friend which exercise leggings she would recommend outside of Nike and Lulu and she said Old Navy!
After that advice, I definitely had to check them out. Old Navy was actually having an activewear sale on the day I went shopping {lucky me}. I really loved how everything fit my body and the material seemed super nice. All of their activewear is VERY true to size. I usually wear a size small in most clothing and I ended liking the fit of the tops, leggings and sports bras in a size small. I did try on some clothing in size XS, but it was just a little too tight for me.
Now that I have been exercising in my new clothes for a few weeks, I can definitely say that I am a fan of Old Navy’s activewear. I really love that their leggings come in different sized waist band sizes i.e. high-rise, mid rise. The high-rise leggings take a little getting used to, but I love how they feel when I’m running and moving around. However, they are a little bit harder to wear during core workouts in my opinion. I still swear by Nike and Lulu, but Old Navy provides really nice exercise clothing that is budget friendly!
