First of all let me start by saying that I received this watch complimentary to review. I had not heard of Misfit prior to working with them nor had I known anything about the watch. Before receiving the Misfit Vapor Watch, I did a little research. I found that this watch is carried in many popular stores such as Nordstrom and Target and is comparable with other smart watches such as the Apple Watch. There are a few differences pertaining to functionality i.e. you cannot respond to notifications on the Misfit Vapor Watch however, the price point is much lower than the Apple Watch. The Misfit Vapor Watch tracks steps, calories, distance and heart rate. It can connect to wireless headphones to play music and is compatible with iPhone and Android phones. This watch is swim proof and water resistant meaning that you can run, shower or swim without ruining your watch. It comes in 8 different colors including rose gold, gold and silver, and has removable watch bands that are interchangable {totally buying the pink wristband ASAP}. The wireless charger comes with the watch and can connect to any USB capable wall charger.
When I received this watch, I immediately set it up. First, I installed the “Android Wear” app. This app allows the watch to connect to the phone allowing email, text, call, etc. notifications to display on the watch face {pretty darn cool if you ask me}. The app does need to stay open all day for the watch to be connected. I found this slightly annoying because I usually close out all of my apps frequently to preserve battery life, but I guess it makes sense.
Next, I installed the Misfit app which calculates and displays all of my activity throughout the day. I love this app because it shows me how many steps I had during the day, my heart rate and much more. It even shows how many calories I burn with or without exericse. This app allows you to set goals and will also track your progress as you go along. The watch battery life is a little bit more than 24 hours. I have been charging my watch overnight while I’m sleeping which is more than enough time for it to last the entire next day.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my watch. I didn’t think I ever needed a smartwatch, but now I’m totally hooked. If you are looking for a great smartwatch, but don’t want to pay the high prices, you should definitely consider the Misfit Vapor Watch!
