I think this is the first time I have ever been sad that it’s Saturday…I’m sad because today marks the end of our vacation. This past week has been so amazing. I feel so well rested and relaxed. I’m definitely not ready to go home yet, but I guess all good things must come to an end.
We started out the vacation with the craziest travel day I have ever experienced. Our first flight to Massachusetts was fine, but our connecting flight did not go as well. The second flight was cancelled because the pilot just decided he didn’t want to work that day. We ended up taking a two and a half hour car ride to the ferry and just barely caught the boat. The travel day that was supposed to take 6 hours ended up taking 9 hours!
Once we got to the house we were staying, everything went smoothly. My family and I attended the Edgartown Fourth of July parade which was so fun. There were many Veterans that were honored in the parade. I have so much respect for those who have given their lives to keep my family and I safe.
Hubs insisted that I post this picture 😉
After the parade was an amazing firework show! Because Edgartown is a small town, everyone attends these events to celebrate. It was neat to be a part of this small town celebration.
A few days later, Hubs and I rode to get lunch at his favorite place, “Among the Flowers,” mentioned in this post. This cafe is so fun to eat at because it is mostly outdoors and surrounded by flowers. We both ordered omelets and they were so yummy! If you ever travel to MV, you have to eat here! However, make sure to leave ample time because they are a little slow with the seating and service.
Toward the end of the week, we went on a fishing trip with my sisters and dad. My mom and grandma don’t really enjoy fishing so they stayed behind. Initially, we weren’t catching any fish. By the end, we had caught so many! If you have never tried fishing, you definitely should consider it. It can be difficult, but is so rewarding once you finally catch one!
I hope you enjoyed reading about our trip as much as I enjoyed writing about it! If you are ever wondering whether you should visit Martha’s Vineyard or not, the answer is YES! It is absolutely gorgeous here and is the perfect place to admire God’s creation.
Verse of the Day: “So God created making in His own image, in the image of God He created them. Genesis 1:27.
