As you know, Valentines Day is right around the corner. What could be more fun than dressing up your super cute V-day outfit with a pop of lipstick or lip gloss?! Even if you aren’t wearing much makeup around your eyes, lipstick can change your entire look in a good way! Lately, I have been loving colorful lipsticks and lip glosses. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good nude lipstick, but since Valentines Day is almost here I’ll be focusing on more vibrant-colored lipsticks and glosses. Here are some of my favorite pink and red lip colors I’ll be coveting this Valentines day! <3

- Dior Addict Ultra Gloss-“465 Shock”
- MAC Pink Lipstick-“All Fired Up”
- Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear-“Melted Berry”
- Nars Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil-“Cruella”
- MAC Pink Lipstick-“Pink Pigeon”
- MAC Viva Glam Lipstick-“Viva Glam”
- MAC Creamsheen Glass-“Just Superb”
- Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear-“Melted Jelly Doughnut”
As most of you know, I had been planning a bachelorette party for my best friend. Well, it was this past weekend and we all had such a blast! Because I was the Matron of Honor and party planner, I thought I would share a few tips with you:
- Plan WAY ahead. I cannot stress this one enough. I’m a type A personality so this was a given for me. I made timelines and appointments about a month (or more) in advance. Planning ahead helps the day run smoothly and it guarantees that you will be able to do all events in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Utilize Amazon and Etsy. Party City and other party stores are super great to visit for decorations however, I found that Etsy and Amazon had much more of a variety and the prices were cheaper! Shipping can take awhile which is why it’s so important to follow step 1.
- Write a food list before you go shopping for food. Hubs and I had gone to Costco to buy all of the food and we would have been so lost if we hadn’t written everything down ahead of time. We ate out for lunches and dinners so I focused on healthy, satisfying breakfast foods – I am a dietitian so yummy and healthy was a must!
- Do some research and ask questions! One of our activities for the bachelorette weekend was getting our makeup done at a makeup counter. I originally had planned on all appointments being MAC however, some MAC locations were more expensive than others. I did some research and found that MAC Nordstrom and Sephora both charged the same $50 product purchase (buy $50 worth of product and receive a “free” makeover). Side note: All of the girls LOVED this so I would definitely recommend this as a bachelorette activity!
- Leave room for travel time. I had been to a few bachelorette parties before and have noticed that the worst thing you can do is plan everything back to back. Sometimes things become unpredictable and take more or less time (example: nails for 8 girls took 1 hour while makeup for 8 girls took 3 hours – true story). It is important to space everything out to leave some wiggle room. You wouldn’t want to be late for an appointment!
Here’s a picture of me after I had my makeup done at the Nordstrom MAC counter: (insert heart emoji face here). The makeup artists were SO nice and I loved how my lady did my makeup!!!
There you have it! I hope you all love the Valentines Day lip sticks and lip glosses. I will definitely be adding some of them to my collection! I also hope my tips for planning a bachelorette party will help some of you in the future.
Today’s words of encouragement are very appropriate for the approaching Valentine’s Day and they are “Life is short. Wear SEQUINS!”
XOXO Elizabeth Morgan
