Happy Saturday! I’m currently hanging out in Big Bear and it is so cold! Last night we were driving up and it went from 72 degrees to 50 degrees! It’s awesome. With the cool fall weather coming, I wanted to share a little bit about how to layer an outfit. I love layering, especially when its cold outside. However, sometimes too many layers can end up looking bulky. Let’s face it, no one wants to look like the Michelin Man!
First off, choose a main piece that is the base of your outfit. I love this Chambray dress (c/o) from Velvet Heart because its so versatile and will go with almost any layering piece. I also like to chose a base piece that is sleeveless so my arms don’t feel bulky with extra layers.
Next choose a top layer. Back at home, it’s not too cold yet so I chose this three-quarter length sleeved plaid shirt dress. Yes, this is actually a dress that I used it as a top layer. I love plaid and chambray together for fall.
After your main layering pieces are put together, next we accessorize! Wool hats are great during this time of the year because they add warmth and cover up any bad hair day 😉 There are so many great ones out that are reasonably priced. I love these from Target and Nordstrom. Add booties and a cute watch and your outfit is complete!

Wishing everyone a wonderful and relaxing Saturday! We will be out hiking around, enjoying God’s gorgeous creation.
