Let me first start by saying I am a HUGE fan of dry shampoo. Curly hair is very dry in general and it’s not good to wash it every day. Because I have to wash my hair every few days, I rely on dry shampoo to keep it looking fresh without making it even drier than it already is. Awhile back I was on the hunt for a good dry shampoo and since have tried a few different brands in hopes to find the best one. Here are the dry shampoos I have tried thus far:
1.Paul Mitchel Express Dry Waterless Shampoo
This was the very first dry shampoo spray that I tried. I really like the product however it is a little pricey {$20 on Amazon} in my opinion. This formula comes out white so it must be massaged in thoroughly, but I like how it doesn’t feel heavy in your hair. It has a fresh scent which I love as well. I would definitely recommend this product, but feel that there are other dry shampoos that are better.
2.Suave Refresh and Revive Dry Shampoo
I absolutely LOVE this dry shampoo. After I ran out of the Paul Mitchell, I wanted to try a more budget-friendly dry shampoo and was really impressed with this one. This can is only $3 at Walmart and is an amazing product. It feels very light in your hair and really looks like you just took a shower. This product does not have a strong scent and comes out white. Although it comes out white, it does not take much massaging for it to blend in. I highly recommend this product.
3.Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo
This is another amazing dry shampoo. I really love how it soaks up all the oils and make your hair look and smell amazing. This product feels as though there is no extra product in your hair and actually adds volume. It is a little pricey {$23 at Sephora}, but is well worth the price. I highly recommend this product.
4.Dove Refresh + Care Unscented Dry Shampoo
I am not a huge fan of this dry shampoo. It makes your hair feel very heavy like there is a ton of product in it. You know when your hair feels like you put a bunch of hair spray on it? Thats what this product feels like in my hair. This product is reasonably priced {$6 at Ulta} and has a nice scent however I don’t recommend this dry shampoo.
5.Batiste Hint of Color Dry Shampoo
I do not like this dry shampoo AT ALL. My friend suggested that I try a colored dry shampoo since my hair is so dark. I did a little research and decided to try this one in hopes to avoid the white, ashy look. This product definitely looks better in my hair, but it leaves a brown residue on my hair line making me look dirty. The residue can easily be washed off, but I would rather just stick to the white dry shampoos. I also cannot stand the smell. It smells like some weird chocolate dusty powder – bleh – and the smell is STRONG. This product also feels somewhat heavy in my hair. I would not recommend this product.
Overall, my top two favorite dry shampoos are the Suave Refresh and Revive Dry Shampoo {budget friendly} and the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo {more expensive but volumizing}. I am indifferent about the Paul Mitchell dry shampoo although it does do the trick. I don’t recommend the Dove or the Batiste dry shampoos at all. I hope this review helps you the next time you are searching for a great dry shampoo!

I really enjoyed this! I have been thinking about trying out dry shampoo. I don’t have curly hair but it is oily, so I have to wash my hair every morning (or I look like a hot mess). I will definitely be trying, thanks for the recommendation!
