Hey hey and happy Wednesday! Can you believe Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK!? WHAT! Where does the time go… seriously?! I remember being in grade school thinking I would never make it to Thanksgiving break and Christmas time. Now here I am, an adult, trying to grasp time as it slips through my fingers like sand.
Because Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I thought I would give you all some Thanksgiving outfit inspiration. Now, I know most of you wear casual outfits for Thanksgiving – thank you for voting in my poll on Instagram stories – BUT my family and I always wear dressy Thanksgiving outfits so that’s what I’m going to share here. Because a majority of you wear casual, I will be sharing a less formal Thanksgiving outfit in Saturday’s blog post so be on the lookout!
I first saw this J. Crew pleated leather skirt last year and absolutely fell in love! I love leather skirts and the pleats add a fun twist to the classic look. This skirt came in two colors last year: black and the burgundy color I am wearing. Unfortunately, J. Crew is no longer carrying the burgundy color, BUT I found mine on Poshmark so check that website if you prefer burgundy over black (this skirt runs large so size down).
Because the weather has started getting colder, I have been pairing skirts and dresses with tights. I love the knit/sweater tight look because it adds a cozy feel to the outfit. Not to mention, sweater tights are SUPER comfy. I bought these from Forever 21 for $10 last year (steal of a deal) and I just found some really cute ones on Amazon.
I made sure to choose a sweater top that stands out while also complimenting the gray from my tights. I love outfits that are complimentary and almost “matchy” without over doing it. Yes, I am the girl that LOVES to match her shoes, bag and accessories.
Skirt: J. Crew (wearing size 00) similar here and here, Sweater: Anthropologie (old) similar here and here, Tights: Forever 21 similar here and here, Shoes: Vince Camuto similar here and here, Purse: Tory Burch similar here and here, Lips: Stila Liquid Lipstick color “Aria”
I hope this post helps you create your own Thanksgiving Day look that makes you feel gorgeous and ready to take on that turkey and mashed potatoes. You will definitely find me taste testing all the baked goodies 😉
Verse of the Day: “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior…” Isaiah 43:2.
LOVE that verse! So comforting in difficult times. Have a wonderful rest of the week and make sure you check back on Saturday to see a casual Thanksgiving outfit post!
