December is almost here and that means Christmas is SO close! What better way to bring in the season than with a warm cup of hot chocolate??
During this season, I love cuddling up on the couch with a cozy blanket and a hot drink. I love tea, but there’s nothing like peppermint hot chocolate during the month of December. I’m usually not one for creating my own recipes, but I took a recipe that I found online and twisted just a tiny bit and VOILA Dark Chocolate Peppermint Hot Cocoa!
For this recipe, you only need 5 ingredients: Hershey’s dark chocolate cocoa powder, sugar, 1% milk (or other kind you like), vanilla extract, and a candy cane. The recipe is as follows:
1 cup 1% milk
2 tbsp dark chocolate cocoa powder
1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/4 tsp vanila extract
Pour milk into pot and heat. Mix in all other ingredients except the candy cane. Heat and stir until cocoa powder melts and hot cocoa is at desired temperature. Pour in mug, add candy cane and ENJOY! Super easy and a yummy treat that’s not super high in calories and doesn’t have too much sugar or fat 🙂
