I am the type of girl that gets really excited about cute things. I mean, REALLY excited. Every time I walk into a store or shop online and find a cute accessory/fun top/etc., my level of excitement hits 10. Sometimes Eric has to pull me away from stores because he knows I’ll become completely absorbed in all things cute.
Because I LOVE cute and fun things so much, I tend to focus on one statement piece and create my outfit around it. This is exactly how I put this outfit together. Can you guess which item in the center piece? If you guessed the adorable, striped heels then you are correct! These heels actually have a funny story to them. I saw these in Nordstrom about a year ago and fell IN LOVE. I loved the stripes, the brooch and the gorgeous heel, but they were $100. That may not seem like much for a cute pair of shoes, but homegirl is on a budget remember? Anyway, fast forward to a couple weeks ago when I was online shopping at Nordstrom Rack. I stumbled upon these and they were priced at $25! I mean what. Of course it took me two seconds to purchase them and here we are 🙂
I knew I wanted to compliment the red stripe in the shoes so I chose to wear a red cable knit sweater. Cable knit sweaters are my favorite cold-weather piece because they are super warm and always have a fun pattern. I tied the outfit off with my favorite pair of distressed skinny jeans from Express. If you have never tried Express jeans, you absolutely MUST. The fit is so flattering and the price point is amazing {especially because they are always on sale}. Today they are even on sale – Women’s jeans Buy one Get one 50% off!
Heels: Lauren Lorraine {Nordstrom Rack} also in blue, black, and pink, Sweater: Gap {old} similar here and here, Jeans: Express, Necklace: Virgins, Saints, and Angels, Purse: Louis Vuitton Delightful MM, Lips: Kat Von Dee “Lolita”
Verse of the Day: “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you WILL have trouble. BUT take heart! I have OVERCOME the world.” – John 16:33. This is actually my favorite verse. It almost brings me to tears every time I read it because there is SO much power in it.
Eric and I will be going to see Aladdin tomorrow in Hollywood with my in-laws!!! I saw the musical awhile back IN NYC and fell in love. We are super excited to see it here in SoCal. Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
