Date nights are one of my favorite things ever. Although Hubs and I have been married for 2 years, we dated for 4 years before we even got married. Thats a lot of dates! I am the kind of person that LOVES trying new things. I love trying new restaurants and going on new adventures. Sometimes I think I need a personal entertainer or something because I get bored very easily. Short story: the first week after Hubs and I returned home from our honeymoon, I was going stir crazy from boredom. I walked out of our bedroom and said “I’m so bored!” Hubs quickly suggested that we head to Seal Beach to check out the Main Street (a place I had never been before). I quickly agreed and we were out the door! Did I choose the right guy or what?!
Because we are always trying new date ideas, I figured I would share some of my favorites with all of you! First of all, if you don’t have a Pinterest, I suggest you get on there right now and sign up. This site is FILLED with fun date night ideas. Make sure to follow me HERE as well to get some extra insight on recipes, things I’m currently loving and much more! I have gotten most of my date night ideas from Pinterest and almost ALL of them have been successful.
Date Night Ideas:
1.Homemade Breakfast for Dinner. Eric LOVES breakfast, so this is one of his favorite dates. I remember in college, I used to go over to his house and he would made strawberry waffles, scrambled eggs, and bacon for dinner. This date is relatively easy and very budget friendly.
2.Try a new Cultural Restaurant. I was never huge on cultural food because I some of the names totally scare me (I’m adventurous, but not when it comes to food). We recently tried this Lebanese place that I was nervous about, and now I’m obsessed with it! I was afraid I wouldn’t like the food, but it ended up being amazing. Because we had such a great experience testing out this new restaurant, we are trying to do it more often.
3.Picnic at the Park. This is one we have done a few times in our relationship. I remember Eric took me to a picnic in the park for our 6 months dating anniversary. We went to a park in Dana Point and ate sandwiches while watching boats sale by. That date was one of my favorites because it was so peaceful and pressure-free.
4.Drive in Movie. We discovered how fun this one is during the last year of college. If you live by a drive-in theater, you HAVE to do this one! Just go buy a cheap portable radio from Target (we bought this one) or Amazon and you are set! Hubs drives a truck so we put a blow-up mattress in the back with tons of pillows and blankets. It was a blast!
5.Happy Hour. This one seems obvious, but people don’t take advantage of Happy Hour as much as you would think. Most people thing you have to drop tons of money to have fun on a date. NOT true at all! Eric and I have some of the best (and funniest) conversations during Happy Hour. It’s also amazing if you’re newly married and trying to be on a budget!
6.Sporting Event. Ladies, the guys will love you for this one. Eric and I are pretty big baseball fans, so we attend Angel’s games a lot. This is a fun and casual date.
7.Bowling. This one might be fun as a group date or as a one-on-one (bachelor fans anyone?). We have actually gone bowling, just the two of us, and had a blast! I’m terrible, so it’s pretty hilarious when Hubs is killing it and I hit the gutter every other time.
8.Theme Park. This one is definitely a pricier date, but I promise you will have a BLAST! For our 2 year marriage anniversary, we decided to do Disneyland passes and it was one of the best decisions ever!
9.Dinner and Live Music. This is one we have yet to try, but it’s on my list! Almost everyone loves food and music so this one will definitely go over well. I know the Hard Rock Cafe usually has live music, and most places have local bands playing on Friday nights. Check your city’s website to see if there are any bands coming to play at local restaurants.
10.Netflix Binge and Pizza. This date is a super casual and very budget friendly. I probably wouldn’t recommend this as a first date, because it might be too casual, but it would be fun as a 4th or 5th date!
Now for the date night outfit. I love this romper for summer date nights. The pattern is cute, the fit is flattering and it’s very breathable. Who wants to sweat on a date?! While this romper is perfect for a restaurant setting, it may not work at a bowling alley or drive in movie. If you are going to go on an “active date” choose a cute pair of jeans or pants with a dressier shirt and some comfortable shoes. You don’t want to try to bowl in a dress and heels. Also remember, to be yourself! If you’re the girl who always wear sneakers, don’t try to walk around in heels all night and vice versa. If you hate jeans and sneakers, then wear what makes you feel the best!

I hope you all feel inspired to go on some fun dates! Today’s verse of the day encourages community. It is: “Where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” – Matthew 18:20. Have a wonderful day!
